Where is there information regarding careers in the laboratory?

ASCLS offers a tool kit for those called upon to explain the field to others. The tool kit is available here and can be used when addressing grade school, middle school, high school, or college aged students.

  • The Commission on Accreditation in Clinical Chemistry (COMACC) provides a listing of resources for graduate level training programs in Clinical Chemistry at: comacc.org/training-programs/. 
  • Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) provides lists of education programs they accredit for the following laboratory specialties: Clinical Research, Cytotechnology, Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine (www.caahep.org/About-CAAHEP/Committees-on-Accreditation.aspx)
  • Area Health Education Center (AHEC): A  network of 300+ health education/office centers that serve over 85% of the United States counties. They promote health career exploration, continuing education, training opportunities, and community partnerships.(nationalahec.org)

Are there any programs that specialize in genetic technology training?
